# Manage SQLCatalogs

> Inspect, add, and remove SQLCatalog databases in a SQLWorkspace.

Use the **Databases** section of a SQLWorkspace's **Manage** page to inspect, add, and remove SQLCatalog resources.

## View catalogs

Each SQLCatalog represents one connected Pulsar or Kafka cluster and appears as a database in the SQLWorkspace engine. Wait for the database to report **Ready**, then allow time for topic discovery if an eligible source is not visible immediately.

## Add catalogs

Click **Import clusters**, select an instance, and choose one or more Pulsar or Kafka clusters. For the complete procedure, see [Add a SQLCatalog](/sql/get-started/console/add-sqlcatalog).

After the catalog becomes ready, StreamNative periodically discovers eligible topics and creates missing source objects in the target database. See [Source Discovery](/sql/overview/source-discovery) for eligibility and synchronization behavior.

## Remove a catalog

1. Open the SQLWorkspace's **Manage** page.
2. Find the database in the **Databases** section.
3. Open its action menu and remove the imported database.
4. Confirm the operation.

Removing a SQLCatalog stops topic discovery and stops its managed sources from consuming newly published records. Data that the SQLWorkspace engine already ingested or processed is retained. Removing a catalog does not delete the source cluster or its topics. See [Data Retention](/sql/operations/data-retention).
